Halloweensie 2020…BOO!
It’s time for Susanna Hill’s 10th annual Halloweensie Writing Contest!
The contest calls for a Halloween-themed story, 100 words or less, using the words: skeleton, mask and creep.
This one goes out to all the scaredy-cats like me on Halloween who don’t dare go near a Haunted House or anything dimly lit!
I’ll take a glass of wine and a jumbo bag of Reese’s on the porch, please and thank you!
BOO TO YOU!

Skeeter Skeleton hated Halloween.
He loathed every, “BOO!”
Disguised in his mask,
He’d creep behind cauldrons,
And hide behind headstones.
But, still couldn’t escape….
“BOO!”
Skeeter’s bones clinked as ghost girls giggled.
Hiding wasn’t working.
What if...I can scare them, too?
When the tree ghost yelled, “BOO!”
Skeeter screamed, “BOO TO YOU!”
When the window ghost yelled, “BOO!”
Skeeter screamed, “BOO TO YOU!”
But, before the graveyard ghost could see him,
Skeeter snuck behind…
“BOO!!!”
“AHHHHH!” yelled the ghost.
Skeeter climbed back into his crypt.
A whole year to plan even better BOO’S!
